Biographies

Alonso portrait

Elisa Alonso is a full-time lecturer and researcher in Translation Studies at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Seville, Spain), where she currently teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She holds a PhD in Communication Studies, from Universidad de Sevilla, and a BA in Translating and Interpreting, from the Universidad de Granada. Her main research interests include the impacts of technology on sociological aspects of translation and on translators’ training. Before lecturing, Elisa Alonso worked as a software localiser at Lionbridge and as a freelancer.

Nunes portrait

Lucas Nunes Vieira is a Lecturer in Translation Studies with Technology at the University of Bristol (UK). He holds a BA in language and linguistics from Universidade Federal Fluminense (Brazil), an Erasmus Mundus Master's degree in natural language processing and human language technology from Universidade do Algarve (Portugal) and Université de Franche-Comté (France), and a PhD on the topic of machine translation post-editing from Newcastle University (UK). His research interests include machine translation, translation editing, psycholinguistics, and corpus-based Translation Studies.
