rothwell_bio

 

Andrew Rothwell is Professor of French and Translation at Swansea University, where he founded the MA in Translation with Language Technology (now MA in Professional Translation) in 2000. He teaches and researches translation technologies, and has published translations from French into English, most recently of Emile Zola’s novel La Joie de vivre (The Bright Side of Life) for Oxford World’s Classics.

Svoboda_bio

 

Tomáš Svoboda is Head of German Department at the Institute of Translation Studies, Charles University, Prague. He is in charge of teaching IT tools in the Institute. Further, he lectures and researches Translation History (translation schools) and Institutional Translation (in national/European contexts; translation manuals and style guides). He also works as translator and translation quality advisor, acting as translation quality expert for the Czech National Body for Standardisation.
