Biographies
Ludmila Stern is a Professor and the founder of the Masters Program of Interpreting and Translation at UNSW Sydney, Australia. She is the author of articles and book chapters on interpreting in domestic and international courts, including in war crimes trials; the monograph Western intellectuals and the Soviet Union, 1920-40. From Red Square to the Left Bank (2007; London/New York: Routledge) and the edited volume (with S. Hale and U. Ozolins) Interpreting in the Community – a Shared Responsibility (2009; Amsterdam/Philadelphia: John Benjamins).

Xin (Lucy) Liu is a lecturer in the School of Foreign Languages at Dalian University of Technology, China. She holds a PhD in Humanities and Languages from UNSW Sydney. She is the author of the book Talking like a Lawyer: Interpreting Cross-examination Questions into Chinese published by Jilin University Press in 2018. Her research interests include legal interpreting, pragmatics and interpreter training.
