Biographies
Dr Séverine Hubscher-Davidson is Senior Lecturer and Head of Translation at The Open University in Milton Keynes, UK. She has taught translation theory and practice for over 15 years, and her research interests are in the area of translation psychology, in particular how emotions and individual differences impact the translation process. She has published articles on translators’ personalities, emotional intelligence, tolerance of ambiguity, and intuition. Her book Translation and Emotion: A Psychological Perspective, published with Routledge in 2017, tackles the impact of emotions on translation and interpreting performance.

Dr Jérôme Devaux is a lecturer in French and in Translation Studies at the Open University (UK). Prior to joining Academia, he worked for several years as a freelance translator and conference/public service interpreter. His areas of research lie in the use of technologies in public service interpreting. He has published several articles on video-mediated interpreting court interactions and the impact that they have on court interpreters’ ethical rationalisation dilemmas and their role perceptions.
