Biography
Amparo Jiménez Ivars, Ph.D., is a professor of Interpreting at the Department of Translation and Communication of the University Jaume I of Castellón in Spain. Her current research interest and publications are in interpreting in refugee contexts. She has also participated in research projects devoted to the study of interpreting aptitudes, skills, and competences, quality studies and new technologies applied to interpreting training. She is currently a member of a research group on mindfulness, which she applies to interpreting training. She has also published a textbook (Primeros Pasos hacia la interpretación, 2017, Publicacions Universitat Jaume I) for interpreting trainees accompanied by online audiovisual materials in English.
