Biographies
Isabelle Robert is a Senior Lecturer in French in the Department of Applied Linguistics, Translators and Interpreters at the University of Antwerp (Belgium), where she teaches undergraduate courses on French oral and written text production and research methodology, and graduate courses on Dutch–French translation, revision and translation technology. Her main research interests include translation process research, audiovisual translation (interlingual live subtitling), translation revision processes, and sight translation.

Passionate about languages and translation, Amaury De Meulder pursued a bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics at the University of Antwerp, studying Dutch, German, Italian, French and English. He spent the last year of his bachelor’s abroad, at the University of Innsbruck, perfecting his German and Italian language skills. He later obtained a Master’s in Interpreting, from which he graduated cum laude. Recently, he has also successfully completed the European Master in Conference Interpreting. After his studies, he worked as an interlingual and intralingual subtitler, translator and copywriter, before being offered an opportunity to pursue a PhD at his alma mater. He is also still active as a respeaker at the Flemish public broadcaster VRT and the Flemish private broadcaster VTM, providing live SDH subtitles for the news and live events.

Iris Schrijver is tenure track lecturer at the Department of Applied Linguistics, Translators and Interpreters of the University of Antwerp (Belgium). She teaches an introductory course into Translation Studies as well as introductory and advanced Spanish. Dutch translation courses in the bachelor and master programmes, including modules on technical and audiovisual translation. Her research interests concern translation competence acquisition, cognitive writing and translation processes, and interlingual live subtitling.
