Herbert Portrait

Sarah Herbert is a recent graduate holding an MA in Translation and a BA in French and German from the University of Surrey. As part of her MA, she completed an internship working within the Vendor Management team of a UK-based translation company with which she also carried out the study that formed the basis of the current article. She was later employed by the company as Talent Development Coordinator.

do Carmo Portrait

FĂ©lix do Carmo is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Translation Studies of the University of Surrey, a fellow of the Surrey People-centred AI Institute, and an expert member of the Future of Work Research Centre. He worked for more than 20 years in Porto, Portugal, as a translator, translation company owner and university lecturer, and he was awarded a post-doctoral research fellowship to work at Dublin City University.

Gough Portrait

Joanna Gough is a Lecturer in Translation Studies at the University of Surrey. With an interest in the business and industry aspects of the translation profession she is a keen advocate of cooperation between academia and industry. Joanna is a member of the ITI Professional Development Committee and a LocLunch Ambassador. Her research interests encompass a variety of language and technology related subjects, such as tools and resources for translators, process-oriented translation research and technology supported collaborative translation.

Carnegie-Brown Portrait

Anu Carnegie-Brown is the Managing Director of Sandberg. With 30 years in the language services industry, she has volunteered at the UK Institute of Translation and Interpreting, mentored for Women in Localization and been on the Advisory Board of the University of Surrey Centre for Translation Studies. She teaches regularly at the University of Helsinki and serves on the board of directors for the European Language Industry Association.
